3:00 pm Vinyasa Yoga Workshop with Brendan McCall
Brendan McCall (USA) has been a practitioner of yoga since 1991. He has studied a number of traditions in-depth—astanga, Kripalu, and kundalini—and some of his key teachers include Kent Bond, Stephen Cope, Richard Freeman, Vanessa Kudrat, Peter Greve, and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. His teaching methodology is influenced by his background in massage therapy, professional dance & somatics, as well as an emphasis on encouraging students to develop their own personal practice. He has taught yoga internationally since 2000 in the United States, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Turkey to students from a wide range of contexts. His private clients include Academy Award-winning filmmaker Lee Daniels, award-winning novelist Peter Straub, and model Christy Turlington. He was Co-Director of the Shri Yoga’s Teacher Training Program (New York) with Sadie Nardini; the Creator of the Yoga Program at Bennington College (Vermont); the Creator of the yoga curriculum for St. Vincent’s Children’s Psychiatric Hospital in Greenwich Village: and Initiated an annual Yoga + Dance Benefit Event to support AIDS Research, in co-operation with Chelsea Piers (New York). Primarily a performing artist, Brendan relocated to Western Australia in September 2012 to begin serving as the new Manager of the Cummins Theatre, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
