1:30 pm Puppetry Workshop with Polyglot Theatre (Melbourne)
The Polyglot Theatre (Melbourne) is offering a FREE Puppetry Workshop from 130-3pm, before their performance of Muckheap at 4pm on Weds, 1 May 2013. While aimed particularly for children ages 8-12 years old, everyone is welcome to attend. “Junk Puppetry” In this workshop, children choose from an appealing pile of junk bits and pieces that will go to make their own puppet character. Junk is transformed as our artists take participants through techniques of joining, connecting and performing. Please RSVP your spot by emailing CumminsTheatre@merredin.wa.gov.au. Stay after the workshop, and see their performance of Muckheap at 4pm with your friends and family: an award-winning work about recycling as told through the humorous tale of two people trying to (unsuccessfully) clean out their home. Damian Callinan and the Merredin Repertory Club present Cave to the Rave The Cave To The Rave takes us from the earthen floor of prehistoric man to the polished parquetry of modern dance with a few side steps and knee slides along the way. It’s a dance class for comedy beginners, intermediate and advanced.
