About the Show:

Do you know how Tasmania came to be or whether Eddie McGuire should ride a bicycle? What about the joys of getting old. Old Jack the Aussie Gleeman does.

Join raconteur and poet, John R. Sabine, as he unpacks his mortal coil of 80 years to tell like it is with yarns and verse that will make you laugh and think and smile and be glad to be alive.

Whether as a sportsman, scholar or actor, for John, life is an adventure and now he wants to tell you about what’s he’s learned and why you can teach old dogs new tricks (he should know!), what morality we can learn from Russians (really?) and why wombats have hairy noses. Wit, wisdom and wishful thinking in poetry, prose and a mixture thereof. It’s a joy for all when Old Jack gets on his feet.

This event is part of the Lunchtime Escapes series of shows aimed at presenting high quality live performances to daytime audiences. Come and enjoy an hour long performance in the main auditorium of the Cummins Theatre.

Each concert begins at 11am with a complimentary high tea consisting of cakes, sandwiches, scones, and other delicacies, along with a selection of tea and coffee. The performance begins at 12pm.

Seating is cabaret style with tables.
