Family Fun Festival Day

Are you bored these school holidays? Well the Cummins Theatre has just the cure for your boredom with our fun filled Family Fun Festival Day!

Entry to this event is just $10 per person or $35 for a family of four, with children under 2 free! The entry fee includes entry to all of these fantastic activities:

10am – Drama Workshop with Mark Storen

Remember Mark? He was the awesome dude that ran our HUGELY popular Fairytales workshop in 2016. Well the bearded maniac is back! Mark will be running a fun filled acting workshop for the over 8 year olds. There will be drama games, some improvisation activities, hilarity, and lots of fun while learning skills in acting.

10am – 12pm Crafting in the Tivoli

The paints will be out and it will be time to GET MESSY! We will have an assortment of fun crafting activities in the Tivoli. Try your hand at paper mache, WA Rocks, or make your own take home library bag. All supplies will be provided by us, all you need to do is bring your messy painting clothes or painting smock.

12pm – 2pm Family Fun Olympics + Family BBQ

Have you wanted to know who is the most competitive family in town? Well here is your chance to put every member of the family to work with our friendly competitions including:

– Baby racing (for the under 1s)

– Sack races and egg and spoon races (for the under 8s)

– Hula Hoop championships (for anyone!)

– Limbo competition (for anyone!)

– Family Relay (for families)

There will be amazing prizes to be won for each competition.

If competing isn’t your thing you can sit back and enjoy our family BBQ which will include an assortment of fresh salads, sausages, and drinks.

2pm – 3pm Live Performance of “Benjamin and Me”

Mark Storen will take the stage from 2pm to present his amazing one man show “Benjamin and Me”.

About the Show:

Benjamin is Will’s best mate in the whole wide world. Benjamin is also a dog.

One morning, Will wakes up with an idea. He has decided to build the first ever boy-dog operated flying machine. And so, this coming-of-age adventure takes to the skies…

Follow the extraordinary journey of this young boy, his dog, their wild imagination and a ukulele. The show features a smattering of songs, crazy contraptions and illustrations by visual artist Jacinta Larcombe.

Benjamin & Me is a show for families and adventurous adults. It’s the newest work from award-winning writer and performer Mark Storen (The Polite Gentleman), and is the debut production for his new company Whiskey and Boots.
