The team from Camera Story are in Merredin for three days only to teach a hands on, fun and interactive photography workshop.
For three days young people can learn the skills and techniques that will help them to transform their photographs from uh oh to WOW!
Camera Story believes photography connects people and cultures. Learning to create positive imagery is essential for healthy communication and building genuine relationships. This has inspired them to devise artistic and educational photographic workshops that help navigate the contemporary landscape of image based communication, both online and in print.
These workshops also form part of the Small Voices Project at the Cummins Theatre where we are exploring what Merredin means to the young people who live here. Through interactions with art, working alongside professionals artists, and developing their own creativity we hope to allow those with the smallest voices in our community to be heard on a greater scale.
Workshops take place in two groups:
7-12 year olds: Monday 10th 10am-12pm, Tuesday 11th 10am-12pm, Wednesday 12th 10am-12pm
12 years and up: Monday 10th 1pm-3pm, Tuesday 11th 1pm-3pm, Wednesday 12th 1pm-3pm
It is expected that participants will attend all three sessions to build their skills and create a photograph for use in the Small Voices exhibition. All equipment is provided.
