WA Opera in The Park – Gianni Schicchi Regional Simulcast

Gianni Schicchi features one of the world’s most popular arias, ‘O mio babbino caro’.The comedy takes place over one day, when a family’s greedy inheritance plans are disrupted. Cunning trickery is everything in this story; only the young lovers remain blissfully ignorant of the scheming around them. Puccini’s final completed opera is a loving tribute to Italian theatrical and musical tradition.

Since 2010 West Australian Opera has broadcast City of Perth’s Opera in the Park from Perth to regional venues throughout the state.  Thanks to Lotterywest, Healthway through the Alcohol.Think Again message, the Department of Regional Development, the Community Resource Network and Westlink, regional audiences are able to watch free live opera on-screen in their community.

The regional simulcast enables long time opera fans, or first-timers just being introduced to the artform, to experience the beauty of live world-class opera.

Doors open at 7pm. The bar will be open for drinks and guests may BYO food only. Why not make a night of it and enjoy a meal with friends before the opera?

Tickets are FREE and there is no need to RSVP just turn up on the night.
