Cummins Theatre is a unique and beautiful venue suitable for a range of events. With its flexible seating arrangements and various rooms available for hire we can cater for anything from a small corporate meeting to a large concert performance.

If you wish to use the raked seating while using the cabaret or dinner configuration there are an additional 222 seats available in the auditorium. The theatre number listed above already includes these seats in the final number.

These capacities are a rough guide only and will vary depending on the room layout and the type of event. For more information please contact the theatre manager.

The inclusions for venue hire vary for the venue space being hired and the type of event. Please read the Conditions of Hire or speak to the Venue Manager for more information on inclusions. For weddings and special events please read the the additional information page for a list of inclusions.

Yes. If you would like to set up and pack down your event you may. Please contact the venue manager to arrange a suitable time. Alternatively the event can be set up and packed down for you for a small additional cost.

The following hirers qualify for the community hire rate:

  • Organisations that are registered not-for-profit
  • Organisations located with the Shire of Merredin that are community based organisations, for example The Merredin Community Choir
  • Events for which tickets are not required or sold either by the Cummins Theatre or a third party and which benefit the greater Merredin Community *
  • Private functions including birthdays, weddings, and funerals *

If you are unsure if your event qualifies for community hire please contact the venue manager for further details.

Currently we are not equipped to offer our own catering, however we can recommend a variety of Merredin based companies who would be happy to offer their catering services for your event. Alternatively the venue has a fully equipped kitchen which may be hired for your use. Please contact the venue manager for more information.

The Cummins Theatre has a bar which is operated by the Merredin Repertory Club and is open for all performances, and functions on request. The venue is licensed and as such you may not bring your own alcohol onto the premises. For private functions such as weddings and birthdays, drinks packages may be purchased with your venue hire. For private events non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soft drink, and juice may be brought into the venue. Please refer to the Venue Hire Form for fridge access restrictions.

For all events which require the services of a technician you must either:

  1. Privately employ the services of a qualified and approved technician (a list of suitable technicians will be provided on request)
  2. Employ the services of the Cummins Theatre Venue Technician
  3. Privately employ the services of a qualified technician who can be approved for the use of our equipment – no external personnel can operate any equipment in the venue without this approval

Alternatively you may provide your own equipment for use with your show. This equipment must be compatible with the Cummins Theatre, must not damage the existing equipment, and must be of a suitable quality for use within the theatre.
